A NOTE FROM LISA:
WARNING...MUSHINESS AHEAD! Mostly I just wanted to say "hi" cuz sometimes I don't get to do that enough. But I also want to tell you that I appreciate you - your friendship, your partnership, your knowledge, your creativity, the laughs we have together, and the growth that working with you in the crazy biz allows. Honestly, I bet there's not a better lot of people in the whole world and I'm often bustin' at the seams with happiness over having you all in my life. And don't EVEN get me started about the fantastic Highlight team I get to work with every day! That's it - just wanted to pass on some love on this beautiful sunny winter day. (Oh, and I apologize in advance for the profanity in a couple of the links below - but we're all adults here, right?) :^) (Oh, and I apologize (again) in advance for the uber-long newsletter this week - lots of fun info to pass along.) :^)

NO - THAT'S NOT ME: NOT THAT REALLY YOU'D THINK IT IS: but there's a lesson to be learned: keep an eye on what people are saying about you and your business. I use Google Alerts to watch the web for mentions of several things, and THIS one came up under my "Lisa Bickford" this morning. You can sign up for your own words HERE.
BBQ ALREADY?! YEP! While the rest of us were snuggled up at home, what do you think Donny B. was doing?! Never one to waste even the winter months on perfecting his craft, he was warming up for a fabulous BBQ season: *This is a picture of his mouth wateringly scrumptious new competition BBQ chicken. Seriously, words cannot describe how delicious this was. Yes, I am lucky. *With his fingers flapping around the keyoard like crazy - he GOT IN at the 2nd annual Sam's Club BBQ Contest this summer in Woodbury. It was a race to get in as they only take 30 teams. HERE are the teams that got in. *He traveled out of state to take a weekend BBQ class from a top ranked team. (You never know when you'll learn that one super-secret technique that will push you over the top!) |
