Issue #45                                                         May 2012

Greetings!

Happy Mother's Day
It is not an easy task being a parent, being there to support our children through their different stages of life.  When it comes to decision making, it is very tempting to try to sway them to your way of thinking because you think it is for the best.  Our daughter makes it very clear that any suggestion we have she will either ignore or do the opposite (funny that's how I used to feel...)

'Parents should be particularly on guard against any desire to mold the young personality according to their own ideas or wishes'  Heal Thyself ~ Dr. Bach

Feature Remedy...

Scleranthus     Life presents itself with many decisions, what to wear, what to have for dinner, what extra curriculum activity to take up etc.  This state of mind is when the remedy Scleranthus can assist.

Dr. Bach's Description...
Those who suffer much from being unable to decide between two things, first one seeming right then the other. They are usually quiet people, and bear their difficulty alone, as they are not inclined to discuss it with others.

- The Twelve Healers and Other Remedies

*********

I can't decide which dress to wear today mum', the indecisive child whines to her mother. The clock is ticking and its not long before school starts. Her mother  delicately tries to negotiate with her child to please choose either the blue or red dress as quickly as possible. Eventually after a long teary scene and raised voices, the child puts on the  blue dress. The mother is absolutely exhausted.

Decisions do not come easily for child and life is so full of decisions she is so confused by the choices and decisions that it makes her head spin. As if that was not bad enough, she feels happy one minute and sad the next.

After taking some Scleranthus, the 'knots' of confusion and indecision gradually untangle. Clear sudden decisive thoughts enter the child's mind from nowhere. Why hadn't I thought of that before? Life is so much more balanced and straightforward now.   Much to the relief of her mother, the young child decides in a flash, which dress to wear.

The Scleranthus plant is comparable to a tangled piece of wool. At random, the tangled stems produce spiked, waxy green flowers, which grow in all directions.
