Bach Flowers to the Rescue... Recently I experienced a shock, which then lead to trauma, and extreme fears, not a pleasant state of mind to be in. It is amazing that one event, that was totally unexpected and probably did not last long, and how it has affected me so much.
After the incident had happened, and once the police had arrived, I kept spraying myself with Rescue Spray, which definitely helped me to cope at the time. I felt jittery the next day, and was told that there was help available if needed, but I thought I would be fine, after all I had my remedies to help me.
The problem is that once your peace and tranquility of your home has been violated it is difficult to be able to escape from the moment that the extreme fear happened. In addition to other professional help, and other modalities, here are the remedies that I carry around in my bottle
Star of Bethlehem, for the after-effects of shock a result of accidents, bad news, frights etc, which assists in neutralizing the effect of the shock, providing comfort and consolation.
Rock Rose for terror - fright, panic attacks, hysteria etc, that is usually brief, but related to a particular crisis. This remedy provides courage, calmness, and presence of mind.
Mimulus for fear of known things, that can easily be named, and can help with bravery and courage.
Aspen for vague unknown fears, anxiety, terror etc., and assists with a state of inner peace, security and fearlessness.
Walnut for those of us who need protection from change and outside influences, and thus helps us to move forward in life despite discouragement and bumps in the road.
White Chestnut for unwanted thoughts and mental arguments. Sometimes obsessive and worrying thoughts seem to consume our minds, and this remedy can provide us with a peaceful mind and positive problem solving.
Lastly, Rescue Remedy as the name suggests a remedy that comes to the rescue in emergency or stressful situations. It contains Rock Rose, Star of Bethlehem, Cherry Plum (for panic-stricken irrational thoughts), Impatiens (for restless agitation) and Clematis (for feelings of faintness). Just take four drops whenever you feel the need.
Thankfully despite experiencing a traumatic event, everything did work out all right in the bittersweet end. As they say time is a great healer.
