Issue: # Eleven July 2009
Greetings!

Now that summer is in full swing I hope everything is going along smoothly for you.  Here in the Comox Valley it has been hot, hot, hot.
In this month's issue we are following along with the theme of Rescue Remedy and how it can save your day.

Your questions answered about Rescue Remedy.
What is Rescue Remedy?
Rescue Remedy is a mix of five different Bach
Flower Remedies, which together help deal with any stressful or emergency situation.

What sort of situations would Rescue Remedy assist with?
For shock - Receiving bad news, after being stung by an insect, emergency situation such as a car accident, loss of a job etc
For terror and/or panic - Thunderstorms, certain insects and animals, dentist, flying, doctor, having an operation, exams, public speaking, interviews, the dark, night terrors, heights, and claustrophobia. Anxiety attacks, separation anxiety.
For faintness/dreaminess - Over-tiredness, too hot, dreamy, unable to concentrate, dizziness, absent minded, inattentive, lethargy etc
For undue agitation - Irritated by other peoples slowness, always in a hurry, want things to happen or to be done right now, restlessness, talk and think quickly, hyperactive, short-tempered etc.
For hysteria or loss of self-control - Temper tantrums, hysteria, hyperactivity, sudden outrages, abnormally abusive, feel as about to explode, PMS, on the verge of a break-down, fearful of releasing emotions etc.

When do I use Rescue Remedy?
It is best to use it in an emergency or stressful situations only. If you tend to use it all the time or too much it may be as well looking to see if any or the other 38 remedies would suit you better - go to
http://www.bachflowerscanada.com/38flowers.htm

What forms does it come in?
Rescue Remedy is available in a dropper, in a convenient spray, or in a soft, non-greasy cream that contains the added benefits of Crab Apple and can help heal rashes, minor cuts and bruises.

 How do I administer it?
In an emergency Rescue Remedy can be taken neat from the bottle, four drops at a time either directly under the tongue, or on pulse points. Otherwise put four drops in a glass of water and take frequent sips until the emotions have calmed.

How long before it works?
It can work instantly. If you have an interview coming up or some sort of situation you are not looking forward to it may be as well to start using it the day before.
Rescue Remedy does not replace medical attention, but does keep you calm while waiting.

Is it safe for pets?
Yes, simply add to their water, food or treat, or place behind the ears, on the paws or directly into the mouth. My dogs lick it off my hand. It is preserved in alcohol but can be diluted. Always consult a vet and again it is not meant to replace medical attention. For more information
