Greetings!

Spring has sprung, and all of us at TIP are grateful for the season of new beginnings: flowers blossoming, sun shining, and hope for days ahead. We are happy to share with you our many activities, including a beautiful story written by Suzanne Skees in the Huffington Post. Please check out our updates below!

Many of you have sent well wishes after hearing about the illness of one of our founding board members, Sharon Leonard. We are happy to say that she is healing, and shining more every day! We all believe that the collective positive energy sent her way by our Ihangane family carried her through this tough time.

TIP & Huffington Post!

The Ihangane Project is honored to have our work featured in a beautiful story written by Suzanne Skees for the Huffington Post. This story gracefully illustrates our commitment to building relationships and belief that Rwandans are exceedingly capable of finding solutions to the challenges in their communities when offered the resources they need. To read more beautiful stories of resilience of people around the world, visit Suzanne's blog.

Improving Healthcare Efficiency and Patient-Centered Care in Rural Communities

In March 2012, TIP collaborated with the William Davidson Institute to bring a Multidisciplinary Action Project (MAP) Team to work with Ruli District Hospital and their associated health centers. The team spent 4 weeks building upon last year's University of Michigan Ross School of Business team's recommendations to develop a communication system that will improve the flow of patients referred to the hospital from throughout the rural catchment area of Ruli District Hospital.
