Nick Jordan And Wells Of Life
This is a great time of year for everyone. It is a great time to be
with family and friends and to be thankful for them and the great freedoms that we enjoy as Americans. One of the great friends
that we have made during our many years doing the Irish News in print as well as online is Nick Jordan.
The First Feature this week is a
Thanksgiving Tribute to Nick Jordan and Wells of Life.
Nick Jordan  is a highly respected real estate professional and philanthropist. In his career
he has sold almost $400 Million worth
of Real Estate, mostly in Orange County, California. He is 15-year veteran of the California real estate industry and founder
of Jordan Property Group. His operation recently joined forces with First Team Estates and he is a quiet force in OC real estate
circles despite the recent downturn.
Nick Jordan, originally from Ireland, has been a resident of
Orange County since 1987. He has always been active in the Irish-American community and a big supporter of all things Irish including being a frequent advertiser in the Irish News & Entertainment.
A few years ago, Jordan became interested in the good people of Africa and he organized several benefits to build schools in Uganda. One primary school was built in honor of his late sister Joan Jordan. His involvement did not end there. When in Africa; he saw a great need and he has taken giant steps to make life better for thousands
of people. Jordan is passionate about his latest project to construct water wells in Uganda. To quote Jordan,
"Providing a water well is the most measurable way of giving;
without water human life cannot exist."
According to Jordan, making sure people have a clean water source and supply is THE most essential humanitarian effort. He recently returned from Uganda after seeing first hand the need to continue
his personal mission to drill 1000 wells in the next ten years.
Jordan has pledged that every client transaction that he handles
will result in a dedicated water well.

Band of the Week
LEAHY

Leahy is a family band of singers, dancers and multi-talented musicians from Canada.
"A family. A musical group of brothers and sisters, a sound, a style of music, a way of life, a volcanic explosion of talent and energy, intense emotion, and feral passion."

The eight brothers and sisters who comprise Leahy are
Donnell, the oldest (Fiddle), Siobheann who plays bass and also
sings and dances in the band, Frank the drummer and Agnes who
is on keyboards and also sings and dances. The remaining
members are Erin who sings and dances and also plays the piano, followed by two more fiddlers, Doug and Angus (the youngest band member) and finally Maria, their lone guitarist.
Three Leahy Family Specials have been broadcast on PBS Stations. That fact alone is somewhat ironic because the Leahy children were brought up with no TV. The family story is so interesting that an
Oscar Winning documentary:The Leahys: Music Most of All
was made about them.
The Leahy family lived on a farm in Lakefield, Ontario, Canada.
They were given music lessons from a young age and they apparently have a family gift for music and a great ability to get along well together. Another interesting tidbit we learned while reading up for this brief story; the Leahy Clan are also into soccer and we can assume they can mount quite the team when playing in a friendly family or neighborhood game. Another Leahy trait is having a lot more Leahys as most of the band members are now married;
so hopefully this great musical tradition will continue.
We hope Leahy will continue to be one of Canada's most sought
after exports for a long time.
