Auld Dubliner Irish Pub Will Attempt
a World's Record by Pouring
the Largest Guinness Ever!

The Event Will Raise Money for
The Orange County Fallen Firefighter's Fund

On Saturday, November 21st beginning at noon
The Auld Dubliner Irish Pub & Restaurant will attempt
to set a Guinness Book or World's Record by pouring
the World's Largest Guinness. The custom glass,
weighing approximately 200lbs and standing 8' tall
will hold over 400 Gallons of the Irish Stout, making
it the largest Guinness ever poured.

The event will benefit the Orange County Fallen Firefighter's Fund which was founded in 1998 to aid the families of firemen injured or killed in the line of duty.

The record attempt will require over 30 kegs of
Guinness, and it will take approximately one hour to
fill the giant glass. Guinness has been brewed in Dublin Ireland since 1759, and is still the most popular drink
in Ireland. Guinness has the characteristic black color
with a creamy white head, and is synonymous with
most Irish pubs worldwide.
The Auld Dubliner Irish Pub & Restaurant is located
at The District in Tustin at 2497 Park Avenue.
The public is invited to attend and watch history
in the making!

Pub of the Week:

Finn logo

Finn McCool's

In the heart of the resurgent Restaurant Row in
Santa Monica there is a fabulous traditional Irish Pub
and Restaurant and it is owned and operated by one on America's top chefs.  Finn McCools stands out for many reasons but mostly  for their food.  The ambiance, service
and location are all top notch but Finn McCool's take on traditional and innovative Irish dishes is exceptional.
The publican Geraldine Gilliland is the force behind the
success. For many years, she ran her great signature
restaurant, Gilliland's in Santa Monica and closed it at
the height of its popularity to move on to other projects. Despite personal adversity including the sudden death
of her husband and business partner a few years ago and
the loss of her home and guesthouse in the Malibu Fire
of 2008;  Gillaland has persevered and triumphed.
A visit to Finn McCools is well worth the trip from any
part of Southern California. The restaurant menu is moderately priced for the quality and unique selections offered. The decor of the pub is old fashioned and the
bar itself was imported from Ireland. The selection of
Irish Whiskey is better than average and the well trained bartenders know how to pour a good Guinness.
Finn McCool's Pub also features Traditional Irish Music
every Sunday from 5:00pm to about 8:00pm or so.

Irish Band of the Week:
The Mulligans are always at the top of the list of favorite Irish Bands and it is no surprise that  this great Irish group is held in such high esteem by so many of their fans. Denis Murray and Terry McCartan
are two of the founding members of this popular Irish Traditional
group. Murray was born in Dublin and McCartan in the US of Belfast
born parents.
Today The Mulligans usually perform as a trio with Murray's son

The Mulligans talent has taken them around the US, Canada and Ireland. They have also been featured in several films including
The Patriot Game. The Mulligans have five albums and they are in the process of working on a new release which will be out before
St. Patrick's Day, 2010. Their CDs to date are: Mulligan Stew,
Time For One More, Irish Faire, Red Rose Caf and
The Best of The Mulligans.  The Mulligans are also featured in a
recent video release. A sample can be found on YouTube.

Mulligans
The Mulligans at the 2008 LA COUNTY IRISH FAIR at FAIRPLEX

The Mulligans play a wide variety of music, ranging from Irish Traditional to Country to the standards and even some good old American Rock n' Roll!  Fans are genuinely both impressed and surprised when they switch from Irish to Rock with such ease and mastery of the music. The Mulligans are constantly in demand for
all kinds of functions. The Mulligans are a household name within
Irish circles in Southern California.
The Mulligans have always had great talent play with them
including the late Des Regan and one of the best Irish singer/songwriters
around, Ken O'Malley. O'Malley is featured on
the DVD. Through the years they have played with
many of the
Irish greats including The Irish Rovers and Chieftains.

For the past few years the Mulligans have been the headliners at
the LA County Fair Irish Fair at Fairplex as well as select pub dates
and concerts. Watch our Upcoming Events Section here and the
Celtic Calendar in the Irish News.
