Greetings!

Benchmarking business performance and 'recareering' - the latest word from the US - are top of the list of issues in Know-how. Most businesses already examine benchmarking data to determine how the business is faring but if you need a benchmarking primer, the Institute has materials explaining benchmarking and why it is essential for hospitality businesses.

The current trend for 'recareering' has many people considering switching careers to start a hospitality business. Do you have the skills and expertise to start and run a successful hospitality business? The Institute's new management guide can provide the answer.

A recent release from the Food Standards Agency explaining how food service businesses can prevent dangerous E. coli O157 contamination is featured.

The hospitality networking event of the season happens on Tuesday 7 June 2011 when the hospitality industry attends the Institute's Annual Lunch at the world-famous Dorchester, Park Lane, London. Institute resources can hone your networking skills prior to the big event.

Whether attending an event, trying out new benchmarking skills or learning about food safety procedures, Institute members are encouraged to add CPD-qualifying activities to their CPD Tool located on their Member Benefits page.

Sincerely,

Professional Development Services
Institute of Hospitality
