The recent explosion of Social Media is generating plenty of debate.  With over 700,000 local businesses active on Facebook and 11m LinkedIn users across Europe it is clear to see the importance businesses are now placing on Social Media when engaging with new and existing customers.

EqualityWhat does the Equality Act 2010 Mean For Employers?
The new Equality Act 2010 has received considerable press and TV coverage but what does it mean to employers?

The aim was to bring together existing UK discrimination laws and regulations into one Act but the opportunity was also was taken to both make additions and update the law.

Some of the language has also changed.  Whilst the same characteristics are protected as before, for example, age, disability, race, etc. these are now known as 'protected characteristics'.

The Act will also bring Equal Pay into a sharper focus and employers who do not have a proper pay structure should take

HAThe Caribbean Chooses Hospitality Assured
Hospitality Assured, the Institute of Hospitality's service excellence programme, has been chosen as the primary tool to improve service standards in the Caribbean travel and tourism industry.
Caribbean
Eighty Caribbean travel and tourism enterprises, in eight Caribbean countries, are being sought to participate in a pilot certification project designed to promote a culture of service excellence and strengthen the business performance and overall competitiveness of tourism enterprises in the region.

"This project will go a long way towards improving service quality levels across the Caribbean, leading to greater customer confidence, satisfaction and loyalty," said Bonita Morgan, the Caribbean Tourism Organisation (CTO) Director of Human Resources who will oversee the 15-month project.
