recent copyright tribunal case against Phonographic Performance Ltd (PPL) has found that it overcharged pubs, hotels and
restaurants for the right to play music in public areas.
The PPL is issuing letters and claim forms to an
estimated 41,000 hotels, restaurant and pub owners. If you are one of these hospitality operators who
pays a license to the PPL, you
should receive your letter by mid-June. If you have NOT received a letter by
then, it is very important that you contact PPL
directly in order to make a claim.

UK Eating Out Market

UK Eating Out Market Set for Growth
|
The total UK
eating out market will continue growing over the next 18 months, according to
food service analyst Horizons. It is estimated to increase by £850m to a new
value of £42.8 billion maintaining the same modest 2% annual growth seen in
recent years.
In contrast, the US
eating out market has been hit hard by the downturn, suffering an estimated
accumulative fall in value of 5% over the last three years.
