Update My Details About Us Contact Us
Dear ,

We've been positively bursting to announce the development of a brand new social networking community exclusively for Institute of Hospitality members, and now the wait is over as we are officially ready to launch!

Since 11 December 2009, all Institute of Hospitality members are invited to dramatically increase their business connections, find and interact with members who share similar interests and exchange and distribute news and knowledge via real-time chat tools, blogging features and forums.

In a survey conducted earlier this year, you told us how strongly you believed a social network could transform the way you do business, but that you preferred to maintain just one profile on a single site. Built to rival the features available on popular social and business networks like LinkedIn and Facebook, we are confident "The Community" will improve your professional mobility and encourage knowledge sharing, placing you at the centre of a virtual community specifically for hospitality, leisure and tourism professionals. We hope you will get involved and help us to help you make this a success.

Talking of shared knowledge and experiences, in this edition's Rants & Reviews feature, hotel consultant Daniel Craig has a bit of a laugh at some of the 'characters' populating our favourite hotel review sites, as he identifies the terms of phrase and evaluations to take with a pinch of salt. We're intrigued to know if you could admit to fitting any of the categories!

As always, we hope you find eNews interesting and if you have any comments or ideas for articles you would like to see appearing, please email [email protected].

Best wishes,

The eNews Team

reviewHope, half-truths and hype: Hotel reviewers tried and tested

Flowery language, gushing testimony, aggressive punctuation or downright fantasy - we see it all on online reviews sites like TripAdvisor, so in the spirit of parody, here, hotel consultant and avid globetrotter Daniel Craig pokes fun at the 'characters' at work in our best-loved hotel reviewer communities.
