Hospitality Assured News
Hospitality Assured
Dear

As you aware we recently conducted a survey into our clients' views on the Hospitality Assured Standard. We were delighted by the number of responses representing each of the sectors the standard covers, almost 50% of you responded which was a great outcome!
The main findings of the survey revealed the following:
  • Self-analysis and the preparation required before successfully implementing the 10 steps to becoming Hospitality Assured were by far the most highly valued aspects of your accreditation journey.
  • The assessment process itself, plus the pre- and post-assessment advice and consultancy available, were reported to be chief to the worth of HA. Almost 77% of those for whom the beginning of the HA journey remained fresh in mind, had utilised the services of a coach, trainer and advisor.
  • Visibility, best practice information sharing and benchmarking feedback were top on your list of improvements to get maximum ongoing value from the HA Standard. Broader industry-wide recognition of the accreditation process would also emphasise the value of the final assessment report and the journey made to achieve the HA Standard.
  • Up for review is the current method of post-assessment reporting, which many of you feel lacks tangible advice on mechanisms and actions for ongoing improvement.
Taking these findings on board, we will now focus on 3 core areas:
  1. Developing strategies that see us raise the visibility of the HA Standard, by forging relationships with numerous, relevant stakeholders, plus we will create opportunities for publicity.
  2. Looking at ways to create opportunities for more frequent best practice sharing between HA advisors and you, the client.
  3. Undertaking a review of the route to accreditation and the options available for re-accreditation.
New for 2009!

To kick-start our commitment to raising the profile of high achievers on the HA journey, this year we are launching what is set to become an annual presentation ceremony designed to reward the organisations doing their very best to demonstrate a true passion for outstanding customer service and quality assurance.

The Hospitality Assured Business Excellence Awards 2009 will recognise 2008's highest scorers, the highest scoring newcomer to the HA Standard and the most innovative application of the HA Standard.

Further details will follow shortly, so be sure to book your tickets at the Institute of Hospitality Lunch on 9 June, at One Whitehall Place, London, where the Awards presentations will take place. Visit Institute of Hospitality Annual Lunch to reserve your seats.
