The gym will be closed for all classes (including Yoga) on 5/22/2011 due to our participation in a local no-gi Jiu Jitsu tournament. The tournament is at M3 in Montrose (Glendale) and is labeled a "Friendship" tournament because only competitors from 6 local gyms have been invited to participate. We already have a strong list of competitors attending from both our adult and kid's classes. If you are interested in competing, sign up at the front counter at the gym. It's only $30 and if they can't find suitable competitors for you, you obviously don't pay. Divisions will be assembled based on belt rank. There are no preset weight classes. They will match up competitors who are within 10lbs of each other. This tournament is a great and low key way to gain experience competing in Jiu Jitsu. Spectators can watch for free (expect it to be a bit snug, as space is limited).

We will be holding competition training this Sunday with Mr. Scott Epstein during open mat. If you're competing on the 22nd be sure to come to both Wrestling and Competition training on Sunday. Even if you're not competing on the 22nd, feel free to come to Wrestling class and Competition training as well. It's not just for those competing in this tournament.
