Scottsdale Leadership 25th Celebration includes Kurt Warner and $25,000 Gift to Community

 

Scottsdale Leadership will mark its 25-year milestone on April 14 with a special dinner event featuring Kurt Warner, former NFL great, as the keynote speaker. To be held at the Hyatt Gainey Ranch, the evening also includes a presentation of Scottsdale Leadership's $25,000 gift to the community.

Tickets: $150; $125 dues-paid alumni

VIP tickets: $500 includes VIP reception with Kurt Warner, photo opportunity with Kurt Warner, one pre-autographed photograph of Kurt Warner and preferred seating at dinner.

As I sat down to write my New Year's Resolutions for 2011, I found myself thinking not only about goal-setting, but also how motivation and fulfillment played into achieving those goals. While certain endeavors seem to spark an innate motivation in me, other tasks seem destined for the perpetual back burner.  

Motivation is paramount to accomplishing goals in every aspect of our lives - but what fuels it?

Opportunities to Lead

The Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts (SCPA) is currently looking for volunteers for The Scottsdale Arts Festival on March 11-13. For more information:  scottsdaleperformingarts.org. Randy Nussbaum, Class IV, chairs the SCPA board of directors.   

 

Valley Youth Theatre (VYT) is looking for board members. Scottsdale Leadership alumni who have experience or interest in supporting youth and the arts are encouraged to contact the VYT about open board positions. For more information: dhc@gknet.com. Hope Ozer, Class III, is a VYT board member. 

Leadership Skill Development

Nonprofit Sustainability

On March 26, the Nonprofit Management Institute will present a 1/2 day workshop on Financial and Environmental Sustainability, to explain how to enhance the financial sustainability of your favorite nonprofit organization. This workshop is taught by Certified Public Accountants and will help identify barriers and ways to overcome them. For more information: lodestar.asu.edu

Two Alumni Recognized for Work in the Arts

Carolyn Allen, Class I, has been honored as co-winner of the Shelley Arts Advocate Award from the Arizona Citizens for the Arts.

Randy Nussbuam, Class IV, has been elected chair of the Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts advisory board and appointed to the board of trustees of the Scottsdale Cultural Council.
