College & Main
The Staff at ITGA wish you and your team a successful and prosperous year in 2010. All cities and universities in the upcoming year face a complex economic mix of known and unknown challenges and opportunities for their communities. Embrace these dynamic challenges and opportunities to drive the spirit of success for your Town-Gown Economy. For 2010 there are two important terms that continue to gain momentum and we should keep at the forefront of Town-Gown relations, "Sustainability" and "Best Practices". Trying to define "Sustainability" in 2010 is not recommended, instead let "Sustainability" define you in 2010 and "Best Practices" the term is being used on all fronts, but "Best Practices" with anything comes straight from the heart. We look forward to seeing you in Ames, Iowa for the 5th Annual Best Practices in Building University City Relations Conference.

-ITGA Presents-
5th Annual Best Practices In Building
University/City Relations Conference
Sustainable Partnerships For The Future
Building and Sustaining Strong University Communities whether in a small town or a booming metropolis, a college or university brings a unique collection of assets to the community. These academic institutions bring with them a large group of young and often spirited adults, a highly educated faculty with unique perspectives, not to mention sports, culture, entertainment, and tradition. When combined with a city's established neighborhoods, central business districts and their own set of goals, you have the potential for great conflict or great opportunity. Partnerships are essential in minimizing conflicts and forming productive relationships and collaborations among the diverse assets, populations, and outlooks that are found within the college town.
This 2010 conference will be held in the City of Ames, home to Iowa State University. In addition to dynamic sessions, great networking opportunities and thought provoking speakers, tours and evening events will be held throughout the campus and the community so you can experience all Iowa State and Ames has to offer!
