International Town-Gown Association Names Kim Griffo New Executive Director
CLEMSON, SC - The International Town & Gown Association today announces that Kim Griffo has been named Executive Director. Kim will continue the tradition of furthering the cooperative relationships between institutions of higher education and their host communities. In her new position Kim will provide leadership in establishing and maintaining sound working relationships and cooperative arrangements with member representatives, potential members, the governing board, community groups and other national organizations, and represents the programs of ITGA and the point of view of the association to agencies, organizations, and the general public.

The International Town & Gown Association is very pleased to name Kim Griffo as our new
Executive Director. As Town and Gown Coordinator for Murray State University, Kim's wide range of experience with governmental relations, economic development, student programs, and grant-writing will serve to strengthen our organization and will benefit our members and their communities nationwide and beyond. Kim also brings a proven commitment to the mission of the ITGA and believes strongly in the resources, leadership, and best practices our organization can offer to university communities.

Kim has attended and contributed to every national town-gown conference since October
2006 and recently organized the very successful 4th Annual Best Practices Conference in
Building University/City Relations in her own home town of Murray, Kentucky. Kim's ability to forge new partnerships has resulted in great success for the City of Murray and Murray State
University. Her efforts have helped to capture over $250,000 from the community for the Town and Gown Partnership fund and she has helped bring over $1.5 Million in new dollars to her community and service region.

Kim is well-versed in the opportunities and challenges facing college towns and embraces the opportunity to assist these communities on an international level. The combination of her
background, enthusiasm, and commitment ensures a smooth transition for our young
organization as she moves into her new leadership role. There is no doubt she will be missed in Murray, but we are thrilled to welcome her and her family to Clemson. We look forward to her leadership taking the International Town & Gown Association to new heights.
