The new Board Members will soon be busy with the existing Board and staff in helping to lead and shape the ITGA into a global resource for all college communities. We are already working on a new web site to be able to provide improved communication tools and best practice examples and documents for town & gown utlization. The Board is also working on a mid year leadership conference to coincide with the winter Board of Directors Meeting that will present national speakers and workshops on collaborative and creative leadership skills specifically targeted for the interjurisdictional needs of college and community leaders. The ITGA looks to partner with other national organizations to create a leadership conference for a multi-dimensional learning experience.

The ITGA continues to provide various avenues of communication to share ideas, issues and successful partnerships with peers from across the country and Canada. Member benefits include:
  • Twice weekly e-newsletters of current town & gown news from around the world
  • On-line resource of articles and publications of college town and university best practices and sample policies
  • Reduced registration fees for national town & gown conferences
  • Forums, list serves, and open communication tools to discuss current issues
  • Technical assistance from ITGA staff to address specific needs, questions or to set up peer to peer exchange visits
  • Much, much more as detailed on the ITGA web site, www.town-gown.net.

All college town leaders need a timely, global forum that will provide networking, professional development and educational opportunities specific to town & gown relations.  ITGA is that forum. We sincerely hope that you will elect to join the ITGA and you may do so as simply at clicking here. This will take you to the ITGA membership web site. To Meet Member Requests

In preparation of an updated web site due out later this month, the ITGA has added new technology tools for college town leaders to communicate between their peers. As a response to a number of suggestions from those who do not like to use open list serve discussion groups, we have added to our existing Listserv service, two discussion groups that allow group and individual discussions among peers. The ITGA has begun a Facebook group, International Town & Gown Association, for Facebook members. Facebook helps you connect and share with the people in your life. If you are not a Facebook member yet, you may join at www.Facebook.com .

For those looking for a more business network and less social, the ITGA has also instituted the International Town & Gown Association group on LinkedIn. LinkedIn Groups can help you stay informed and keep in touch with people that share your professional interests. To join LinkdIn, you may go to www.linkedin.com .

LinkedIn, Facebook, the ITGA Forum discussion group, the ITGA Listserve and an on-line survey will all be immediately accessible from the updated ITGA web site.
