McKinney City Council Approves Next Steps for Gateway Development
Gateway
Gateway Project

GatewayOn Tuesday, April 3, the McKinney City Council approved  the next steps in the Gateway development, located at the northeast corner of U.S. 75 and the Sam Rayburn Tollway. City Council approved City Manager Jason Gray's recommendation to partner with the Beck Group, the company that worked on the original construction at the site, and Champ Hospitality to pursue building a full-service hotel with approximately 185 rooms using the existing structure on the site. The recommendation includes some modifications from the construction originally planned when construction of the hotel/conference center started in 2008, notably taking the hotel from the original plan of five stories to four and building hotel conference space of about 20,000 square feet as opposed to 59,000 square feet.
