PRAM Members,

Hope you had a great time celebrating America's 235th birthday.

PRAM has a lot going on locally and statewide in July. In our neighborhood, this is our last month to collect school supplies for flood victims. Our state chapter is hosting an accreditation workshop July 22 in Jackson (registration is July 11) and Lantern entries are due this Friday. More information on each topic is detailed below.

Join us Monday at the Great Southern Club at noon to enjoy our very accomplished speaker Dr. Chris Campbell from USM's School of Mass Communication and Journalism. Check out his impressive bio below.

Thank you for your membership. I hope to see you at our July 11 meeting.

Yours in PRAM,

Keith Guillot

Get Certified!

Hello all!  I am excited to inform you that we have arrangements for the APR Workshop nailed down. It will be a one-day session July 22 in Jackson. (Perhaps in the future we will be able to expand to the 3-day boot camp, but thought it best to try this as a first step).

Please check out the links below for all the information (as many of you probably know, the new PRAM website has also been launched, and it looks great!). I would ask that you mention the session to your chapters as soon as possible, and please direct them to the links.

Note that the session is for all members, not just those currently pursuing their APR. We wanted this to be worthwhile for anyone...it may also spur interest for some to consider going through the process, so please make those points to your members. For those members who are eligible and want to sit for the exam on the Saturday following the session, we need them to register by July 11. Registration and payment can be done on-line, or by sending hard copies and checks to me. All other deadlines and cost ($100) are mentioned.

We are trying to promote this as much as possible and we hope to have a good response. All PRAM members will soon be receiving an email about the session, as will SPRF members.  I will also personally follow up with members in the APR pipeline and the folks who indicated an interest in a training session whenever I visited some of the chapters.

Thanks, as always, for your help. Please feel free to call me if you have any questions or other suggestions.

Kurt Brautigam, APR
