Celebrate Learning with KDL

Katie Event

Research shows that birth through age five is the most important time for children to develop their brains and attitudes towards reading and learning. That's why, at KDL, we provide the tools and resources to help foster that learning. From our PLAY-GROW-READ! initiative, providing fun ideas and information to help prepare children for school to our KDLville play spaces, which provide a variety of developmentally-appropriate activities for children, we're here to help your child succeed in school and in life. Please visit the Parents & Kids section of our website to learn more.

Don't miss the opening of our newest KDLville locations this month at our Plainfield Twp. and Spencer Twp. branches. Celebrate with activities, treats and more!

Is Your Child a Ruff Reader?

Ruff ReaderRuff Readers is a unique read-aloud program that pairs kids ages six and up with trained therapy dogs and handlers who love to hear a good story. These friendly, impartial listeners can help improve your child's reading skills and confidence as the child reads aloud to these furry friends. Ruff Readers is currently offered at multiple KDL locations.

KDL is proud to have partnered, since 2002, with West Michigan Therapy Dogs, Inc. to pair young readers with therapy dogs. Call us at 616-784-2007 to register your child for a session.

Make Your Memoir Memorable
 Bob Tarte
Join us at 10:30am on Saturday, August 13, at KDL's Krause Memorial branch to explore the makings of a memoir. Bob Tarte, author of the humorous memoirs Enslaved by Ducks, Fowl Weather, and the forthcoming The Funnel of Happiness will highlight the two most important things that agents and publishers look for in a memoir and share his own publishing experiences.

Don't miss what's sure to be a "memorable" experience.
