KDL Receives National Recognition

Star LibraryKent District Library has been recognized as one of America's Star Libraries, as rated by the Library Journal Index of Public Library Service, a national rating of public libraries. KDL was one of only two libraries in Michigan to receive this honor.

Library Journal ranked 7,407 public libraries, and identified 258 star performers. Libraries were ranked and given scores based on their circulation, visits, program attendance and public internet terminal use. The top libraries in each category, organized by ranges of operating expenditures, are recognized as a Star Library.

We are thrilled that Kent District Library has been selected as a Star Library and appreciate the support that our patrons and communities have shown over the years. To celebrate, we invite you to visit any of our branch locations December 13-15 for a special star-themed treat. We'll see you then!
Give the Gift of Books this Holiday Season

children

The Kent District Library (formerly the Kent County Library) was formed in 1936 to ensure that Kent County residents, particularly children, were provided access to books. Seventy-five years later, children still remain a top priority at KDL and we invest our resources accordingly.

We now must take our cue from KDL's founding members and come together to ensure that children in our community continue to have access to books and the opportunity to become lifelong learners.  Please help us raise $7,500 for our 75th year to "Stock the Shelves" with amazing books and materials for our youth collection.

Give the gift of books this holiday season with your investment in the KDL Fund. For more information or to donate now, visit our KDL Fund webpage. Thank you.
