One Book, One County Title Revealed

Highest TideOn Saturday, January 10, the John Ball Zoo hosted this year's One Book, One County title announcement event among the diverse sea-life of their aquarium facilities. Given the unique locale, many had suspected this year's title had some relation to the sea -- and they were right. This year's One Book, One County title is the The Highest Tide, by Jim Lynch. The novel tells the story of Miles O'Malley, a thirteen-year old boy fascinated with the teeming life in the mud flats of Puget Sound. His discovery of a giant squid, a creature never before found on the shores of North America, instantly turns him into an object of local fascination. Funny, sincere, heart-breaking and thoroughly entertaining, this year's One Book, One County title is a must-read. For more information, check out the KDL Blog.
