Planning for Now and Beyond
We're gearing up for a great fall with parent and student education programs within many schools.
However, not every school offers programs that focus on helping students develop and maintain time management and organizational skills.
"Get Organized!" is considering hosting a boot camp for pre-teens and teens. We will be giving them a hands on opportunity as we teach them how to use a calendar, plan and manage schedules, and so much more so they can shine among the rest. Good organizational skills and the ability to juggle everything in a day better than the rest, can make all the difference.
We need your feed back to make this happen! If you're interested in your son or daughter taking a "GO Boot Camp", let us hear from you. There is no comment for contacting us.
Also checkout below last months three part interview with Lorraine on 100.7 on Organizing Tips for Back to School. You'll get loads of ideas for your home.
Plus this month we are introducing a new service that we are excited about, Estate Sales.
Oh, and don't forget to come out to the Dallas Home and Garden Show...many free workshops available for your home this weekend.

Mothering Mother-in-laws
I often wonder how I will fit in to the life of my future daughter-in-law. Although I'm not even close to this season of my life, I often see discord in relationships such as these.
A few weeks ago, I read on a forum a request from a new mom who was experiencing mother-in-law issues sense the arrival of her new baby. The new mom was furious because the mother-in-law had sent out her own child birth announcement, via email, without the daughter-in-laws approval. Additionally, the mother-in-law often popped over unannounced to see the new baby and help out around the home.
The wife spoke with her husband and asked him to talk to his mother. The husband, however, brushed it off and chalked up his mother's behavior, to an excited grandmother looking for ways to help.
I think it's common for all new moms to have a tendency to want to singley play the new mom role they have so earned. They don't mind help, but they don't want anyone else coming in and running the show.
A suggestion to both parties: Ask, Ask and Ask... while your intentions may be good, always ask even the closest family members if it's ok to pop in. Make sure your daughter or daughter-in-law knows that if she prefers that you don't, you will accept and respect her decision, without being offended.
Offer to help when she wants and needs help; don't just offer to hold the baby. Offer to clean her kitchen, do the lanudry, or fix a meal. Maintain doing this even after the first few weeks after birth. I promise the fun part will come! She'll be calling you soon enough from exhaustin and wanting you to babysit. |
What's the big deal with home inventory? It's expected that one in every ten homeowners will file a claim this year. Thus, the chances are pretty high that something could go wrong at your house. You may be required to start with a blank sheet of paper and write down EVERYTHING in your house - from switch plates, towels, dishes, clothes, and furniture, to electronics and lists of every DVD, CD, and software license in the house. Think about how difficult it would be to compile this list. Imagine the circumstances surrounding the need to create that list: a fire, flood, robbery, tornado, etc. When you combine the overwhelming task of trying to remember everything in your home and then add the stress of a major event, you open the door for mistakes and omissions. That's where Home Inventory Experts come in. For a very small fee, we give you the "proof of what's under your roof" so you can rest assured that if the unthinkable happens, you will be able to focus on your family and not your losses. A Standard Home Inventory starts at $350 and includes comprehensive reports with detailed descriptions (including serial and model numbers), room, category, condition, value, and cross referenced photographs. Our "GO" Team at
This past month most of our team members took an exciting tour of the IKEA in Frisco. We learned about many great products and how to use the online tool for space planning on IKEA's website.
Our team wants to have a wide knowledge of organizing tools so that we can develop a broader knowledge in order to meet our clients' needs.
Many of the items we viewed had dual purposes, allowing you to use the same product in many different ways.
Don't miss coming out to the Dallas Home and Garden Show where we will be giving away many products, including a bathroom cabinet valued at $149.
