Busy.. Busy..Busy
I've felt like a little bee this past month zooming around being a mom, wife, and business owner. In busy times like these, it has proven that being organized has saved me time, money, and stress. So be on the lookout over the next month or so for some Coffee Shop Talks at Saxbys. These talks will be free and can help you manage your life during your busy season.
"Organized Life" this month has great information to share about published articles and a new radio show that you'll want to tune in to. Plus, we'll be sharing some free programs through area cities and free and low cost ways to get packing supplies.
Plus, don't miss our great finds this month on three ways to keep your bedroom organized. If you're a book reader or shoe collector, you'll love it.

Free Recycling Program
As Get Organized! continues to expand its services with recycling, we are finding out about some great recycling programs available through area cities.
Frisco, Allen, and Plano all offer a "Free Exchange Program". This program offers residents a chance to come by and get any new or slightly used item that someone has dropped off for free.
Common items that could be found are cleaning products, yard chemicals, fertilizers, paints and more. These items are available on a first come basis.
The Frisco location is moving and has supended this program until late June. However, Allen's and Plano's programs are going strong.
To see if your city offers this free program, check out your city's site.

As a mom of three sons one with ADD, let me assure you that ADD is real. I fought medication for over 5 years then finally gave in a year and a half ago. ADD either in children or adults can foster an attitude of frustration and low self-esteem. Many times adults with ADD feel that they should be able to do ordinary organizational tasks but find that their attention for doing something else pulls them away.
It's always easier to do something we like rather than something we dread. Who really likes to file or clean out the refrigerator?
Believe it or not, I often find myself jumping from one task to the next. Mainly I believe that I dislike standing still to do something like washing dishes or folding clothes. I enjoy folding a few clothes, then washing a few dishes, then back to folding clothes. I'm not quick to think that I have ADD, but I know how I function and work with my habits and tendencies.
If you have ADD then it's something you are going to have to live with but there are coping mechanisms that can help you stay on track.
When writing down To Do's, make sure you always use a notebook where the pages are together. Don't allow yourself to grab any old piece of paper to take notes on.
Always keep important papers in transparent plastic folders in various colors. By doing this you can quickly see what papers are in the folders.
Have a dry erase board in your bathroom. As you are getting ready, even before you know what's going on that day, you can quickly see what you have to do.
Just remember you won't accomplish your goals and desires with half written songs, uncompleted paintings, and partially completed projects. You get no credit for writing down your ideas if you never complete them.
