MFRmail Treatment Tip
Knee/Thigh Self Stretch
As I said in last month's Newsletter, I go through a LOT of shelf liner in my practice. Available by the rolls at stores such as Target and Walmart, it facilitates a light, low effort self-stretch in a wide variety of locations. I teach this to all of my clients with knee or thigh pain. The direction of pull can vary, but you should be teaching your clients to reproduce the familiar. Connect them with the feel of restriction or, at a minimum, to reproduce a shadow of their pain.

If you are new to this newsletter, the MFRmail Treatment Tips are reproducible pdf files that you can print out on your own letterhead. Quality handouts improves patient compliance. No more stick figures! There are many more available on the Archives page of the website. To access thsi month's Treatment Tip, just click on the blue hyperlink above.

Oakworks, the leading manufacturer of massage tables, recently invited me to their facility to take part in their Educational Video Series. The end result was a series of five videos that highlight the nature of my teachings in the Foundations in Myofascial Release Seminar series.
The five videos detailed technique relating to the pelvic floor, lumbar spine, "leveling the landscape" of the thorax, Myomobilization of the thigh, and compression releases of the foot. The videos can be viewed by clicking on the link below and selecting "Favorites". I hope you will enjoy them.
On my YouTube Favorites page I have also included a few longer clips from "Strolling Under The Skin", by Dr. Jean Claude Guimberteau.

Liquid Chalk
As many readers may know, I was a bit obsessed over the chalk ball as a means to improve my grip, minimize sliding, and overcome lotion, etc. on the skin. I have discovered another product which I love even more. Why? Liquid Chalk leaves no cloud of dust in the room. Much more economical than many of the other liquid prducts, and just a very small amount lasts an entire session. It washes off easily as well. I've added Liquid Chalk to my store, so give it a look!
I have greatly expanded the selection on the Myofascial Resource Store. Find out what therapists around the country are reading, viewing, listening to, and playing with at the Store.
The books, DVDs, treatment tools, music, and MP3s (both music and instructional) that I have listed on my website have been reformatted into one "Store". Visiting the store will allow you to view the items in a special section of Amazon.com. Make a visit and let me know what you think!
