| Project Highlights: County of Berks, Walmart & More
County of Berks
Ludgate Engineering was selected to provide surveying services to the County of Berks for the location known as the "North Campus". This 750-acre tract is home to several county facilities. Ludgate Engineering took a unique approach to the project, dividing the property into three major sections for the control network rather than one large control network. The 3 networks exceed industry standards and provide enhanced accuracy for a project of this proportion.
Exeter Township Walmart Expansion
In the fall of 2008 Ludgate Engineering was hired to provide construction stake out services for the expansion of the Exeter Walmart. As many can imagine, this site is particularly demanding as we report to several general contractors who are each on very tight deadlines. Ludgate Engineering has been praised for our accomodations for last minute service requests, early mornings, late nights, and long weekends. Ludgate crews are expected to remain involved in this site for at least another month. Excitement for the completed SuperCenter is certainly growing among township residents. (Pictured Above)
Residential Surveying
Our survey crews survey sites large and small, including residential lots. With the warmer weather we've certainly seen an increase in requests for services for residential properties, as property owners prepare to add a fence, shed, or the ultimate source of summertime fun, a pool! |
| From the Field
Story for Ewe
Our surveyors have lots of fun stories to tell about their experiences in the field. Among animals, mother nature, and human nature there is rarely a dull moment!
Recently Kevin Gross, Crew Chief, recalled an assignment for a boundary survey at a sheep farm. Seems the sheep were very interested in what the surveyors were doing. Just as they would follow a shepherd, they spent several days following the Ludgate survey crew through their large pasture often surrounding the crew as they worked. By his recall, it sounded like the surveyors were just as entertained by the sheep, as the sheep were by the surveyors!
