Checking It Out Admission Previews Put Lakehill on Display
After a strong showing at last weekend's Private School Preview, an event
showcasing top Dallas private schools and boarding schools around the country,
Lakehill's Office of Admission is gearing up for a busy admission season.
Undoubtedly, the best way for prospective families to become acquainted with Lakehill is to visit the campus. To give families an opportunity to spend some
time on campus, Lakehill offers a series of Admission Previews throughout the
fall.
The first Preview was held on Thursday, September 23. "We are
really excited about the response we have had to the Admission Previews,"
explains Director of Admission Holly Walker. "If the response we have had thus
far is any indication, we should have a fantastic year."
Admission
Previews provide an in-depth overview for parents considering a Lakehill
education for their children. Guests hear from administrators, tour the school
with Student Ambassadors, and see classes in action. Visitors also learn
more about the Warrior Athletic Complex and the Alice and Erle Nye Family
Environmental Science Center.
Walker admits that many parents and students who inquire about Lakehill already have a good impression about the school. "Several prospective families mentioned that they had attended athletic events on our campus and had been impressed with what they saw. It really is true that, in a way,
Lakehill is always on display. We are fortunate to have such wonderful students and parents who act as
ambassadors for our school all the time."
Five more previews are scheduled for the fall: October 5 and 19, November 2 and 16, and December 7. All programs begin at 9:30 a.m. and last approximately two hours. Reservations can be made by calling 214-826-2931, ext. 102 or via email
at [email protected].

Second place went to Scout Garnsey and Tom Wood received third. Honorable mentions were awarded to Annie Chu, Stephanie Davis, Mckenna Martin, Michaela Rollins, and Lily Turner.
The Committee received a record number of entries this year and they reported difficulty in selecting a winner due

Who's New?
Faculty Spotlight on Rochelle Rasheed
After many years as a
valued substitute at Lakehill, Rochelle Rasheed has joined the faculty as a
third grade teacher and a welcomed addition to the Lower School team.
Originally from Oakland,
California, Rasheed
attended San Jose State and earned
a Bachelor of Science degree from Dallas Baptist University. With more than 10 years in
elementary education, including six years spent at Fellowship Christian Academy in
Dallas, Rasheed is
convinced that helping children reach their full potential is the best part of
teaching. Rasheed enjoys spending time with her family and working on a
variety of arts and crafts projects. She serves on the National Board of Women's
Ministries of the Evangelical Covenant Church and is extremely active in her own
church, organizing activities, counseling married couples, and coaching other
women who serve in Women's Ministry positions. As a teacher and parent
who is committed to making an investment in the lives of young people, Rasheed
has seen first-hand how the friendly atmosphere, the creativity of the staff,
and the partnership of parents enable Lakehill students to thrive. She will
graduate her third daughter from Lakehill this year and says she believes
strongly in Lakehill's dedication to its students and the community.
