Happy Easter Y'all!
This is one of my favorite holidays. Why? Because tomorrow is HALF OFF EASTER CANDY DAY!!! : p
I'm a big fan of any day that promotes positive energy, good food, friends, family and shenanigans.
So here is a little shenanigan you can pull on someone at the family shindig today or somewhere down the line. I had mentioned this basic idea a few weeks back but this past weekend while in the UK with Kostya Kimlat we worked out the kinks and tested it. I think you'll likey!
Go dig out your old Ring Flite and follow along. You must be wearing a jacket. I set it up so the key case is in my right trouser pocket and i've secretly got the clip in my right hand with the line running into my right pocket behind my arm. This is pretty standard. Borrow the ring and vanish it ala the standard method. Now rather than reach into your pocket and reveal the ring inside the case we'll do something different.
Show your hands empty and reach into the right trouser pocket and anchor the ring inside the pocket. I either tuck the ring into the upper corner of the pocket OR shove the ring in between myself and my belt. Basically you want to ANCHOR the ring somewhere so it won't move. Your going to use it backwards. Your going to let the case fly away rather than the ring! Once the ring is anchored I pull the case out and show it briefly making sure not to flash the line as usual. I hold the case with both hands on each side like your going to perform the birdcage vanish. Squeeze your hands together as you let go and the case will fly into your jacket and into your pocket. Wait a few beats and eventually reveal the ring inside the case!
I prefer to reach in my right pocket, grab the case and toss it into my left hand behind my back, then pretend to extract it from my left back pocket. Just makes it seem that more impossible!
This adds an entire extra magical moment for no more effort! Enjoy!
