Biodegradable plastic and packaging is a modern necessity for our ever-endangered environment. In response to this growing need, many manufacturers are offering a variety of solutions.

Unfortunately, many of these proposed solutions are not always backed up by hard scientific data, particularly as provided by independent 3rd party agencies. More importantly, several of these claimed biodegradable plastic packaging solutions can have an adverse affect on the intended shelf life and/or processability of the treated product.

Still, others are too expensive to be cost effective; our additive is a proprietary blend of organic materials that does not modify the base resin to which it is added. The additive initiates and promotes soley a biodegradation process, and does so only in the presence of microorganisms such as are found in landfills and similar environments, which means our product won't prematurally biodegrade but when the time is right it will safely and naturally completely decompose.
