Nutrition is the theme of the December Unit of our Fitness Fun Quarter. We're learning about making good choices in eating habits, especially important at this time of year when opportunities for outside activity may be reduced, and tempting treats are all around. But there's no lecturing here, just good lessons baked into fun songs and dances! We hope this newsletter will give you the opportunity to talk about these topics with your "Dancercise Kid".
Muscle of the Month: Abdominal Fitness - "Tummy Tickler"
Lesson: Just because a food tastes good, doesn't mean it's good for you.
Warm-up: Sit-ups, Bicycles, Scissors, Cat Stretch, Snake Stretch
Jazz - "Ensalada Lambada"
Lesson: Ensalada Lambada is kind of a "dancing salad" in Spanish.
Steps: Jazz slide, Boogie Woogie, Stomp Clap, Clap, Spanish Walk

Ballet - "Mommy's Got A Cold"
Lesson: Eating well will help to keep you healthy. If you do get sick, be sure to drink a lot of water and take vitamin C.

Tap - "Soda Shop Hop"Lesson: We need to eat a variety of goods from different food groups. Fruits and Veggies, Dairy & Protein, Breads and Cereals.

Sign Language: Hamburger, Hungry, Chocolate, Pop
Creative - "Went To The Zoo" Lesson: Even our animal friends need to eat foods that are healthy. Let's visit them at the zoo and see what they eat.
