If you pay Dancercise directly for classes, you will have received your e-mail eStatement recently showing March charges. These charges will be billed to your card around February 15th.  If you do not plan to continue your child's enrollment past February, please let us know by filling out this online form to avoid having your account charged*.

* If you've told us directly, then no need to do so again, but please make sure you contact our office directly or use the online form rather than ask the instructors or childcare staff to do so.

Please note that we bill in advance, and that your eStatement will arrive about 4 weeks before the classes for which charges are shown.  You have two weeks to let us know if you wish to drop, and then we will bill your card on or about the 15th of the month for classes starting the next month.

Please also note that each month's charge in the detail shows the name of the unit.  In this case, March's unit is Musical Instruments, so the charge will be labeled Musical Instruments Unit.

Greetings!

Welcome to our February Muscles Unit Newsletter.  Here's a chance to find out more about:
We are excited to be starting our February Muscles unit.  This unit features some great music and curriculum that is all about understanding the body's different muscles, with a focus on the Heart.  After all, this month features Valentine's Day and it's a great time to remind each other of how much we love them.  You'll hear songs about Someone Special (Spoiler Alert: It's about Grandma!), and your kids will be making sure their hearts get a good workout.

The songs we use in this quarter are on our CD Gotta Boogie!, available for download from our online store.

Even in the middle of winter here, many of you are turning your minds to the summer and what kinds of activities are available for your kids.  We have some original and entertaining camps at our studio in Minnetonka; for those of you within a reasonable driving distance, you'll find a wide variety of exciting options for the summer.

On behalf of everyone here at Dancercise Kids, we appreciate your business, and we hope you enjoy this cold month in Minnesota and look forward to signs of Spring in March.

Muscles
is the theme of our February Unit.  We are learning about where our muscles are and how to exercise them!  The heart is a muscle that pumps our blood.  Exercise is good for all of our muscles, has many benefits, and it's fun to do with friends and family!

Tips
Heart Healthy Tips For Your Family

In Dancercise, we encourage kids to think about making healthy choices and to better understand what keeps them feeling good.  We present that in a way that's fun and easy for them but those lessons can last a lifetime.  Some things you can do with your children to keep your heart healthy include:
  • regular exercise - this doesn't have to mean getting on the treadmill every morning, but taking an energetic walk with the family twice a week can help a lot - or of course you could put on some music and dance around the house...let your child show you a step or two!
  • choose whole grain food - simple and easy choices at the grocery store for whole grain pasta, bread and cereal needn't change your meals but can help you feel better
  • drink lots of water - keeping yourself well-hydrated has a number of health benefits; encourage your kids to drink lots of water and it doesn't need to come in a plastic bottle from the grocery store
Dancercise Kids does not provide medical advice.  The above is a synthesis of common healthy lifestyle tips accrued from various sources including the Food & Drug Administration.  Introduce your older kids to the Food Pyramid here.
Thank you for participating in Dancercise.  You can find much more information on our website here, or you can e-mail us with questions.
