Happy Holidays!  This time of year is a great time to help people quit smoking.  Congratulations to all the hospitals participating in the NC Fax Referral Challenge by connecting patients to the NC Tobacco Use Quitline.  If your hospital hasn't already participated, now is a great time to start.

Summary of Reports

Telecom report: 1623 total inbound calls were received; 233 (14%) were early abandons, and 83 (5%) were routed Direct to Quit Coach. 1264 (97%) calls came in via the English line and 43 (3%) were via the Spanish line.

Fax Referral reports: 126 fax referrals were received. Of those, 44% accepted services (67% enrolled in the One-Call program, 31% enrolled in the Multiple-Call program, 2% asked General Questions).

Registered Callers by County report: 99% of Registered Callers were Tobacco Users.

How Heard About by County report: #1 was TV/Commercial at 38%, #2 was Radio at 16%, and #3 was Health Professional at 14%.

How Heard About by Dayreport: The highest volume day was 11/20 and the top HHA that day was TV/Commercial.

Health Plan report: Uninsured = 33%, Medicaid = 22%, Medicare = 9%.

Adult Demographic report: 58% of Tobacco Users were female and 94% were not pregnant.

Services report: 86% of Registered Callers requested an Intervention; 94% of Tobacco Users requested an Intervention and 2% of those Tobacco Users were pregnant.
