Facility Update
After many discussions, the Alumni Board is moving forward with plans to conduct a design-analysis to determine the current structural condition of the facility. Our goal is to determine if the house is capable of standing for another 100 years. If it is, then we will examine the costs for a FULL historic renovation, which would include the restoration of the 3rd floor and basement areas. If the analysis determines that the house is not capable of withstanding another 100 years, then we will explore the costs for demolition and construction of a new facility. Once this analysis is complete, we will be seeking input from the chapter's Alumni to determine our course of action. Ultimately, we, the Alumni Board, are responsible for ensuring the continued existence and operation of Ohio Alpha. As you may have noticed, the active brothers are doing their part to change the culture in the chapter. Thanks to improved collections, we have been able to balance the budget for the last 2 years, and are on track for year 3. If you have any questions about the facility, or other board operations, please reply to this email and we will reach out to you to discuss your areas of concern. |

President's Perspective
The school year is over. The actives have, for the most part, all gone home to work and take a break from studies. But, just because the guys aren't in school, doesn't mean that the Board's work is on hold for 3 months. Over the course of the summer, the Board is going to pursue a structural design analysis of our facility. As we move forward with this study, we will be communicating with our Alumni to let them know all the findings. On a personal note, I would like to thank the Alums who came back to the house over Alumni Weekend. This Alumni Weekend was extra special because I got to meet some of our brothers from the late 40's and early 50's. The stories were great, and the time of fellowship was tremendous. I would like to personally congratulate Ed Gmyrek for being honored as an ONU Distinguished Alumnus. Ed, to this day, embodies what it means to be a brother of Ohio Alpha. Still displaying our Cardinal Principles of Virtue, Diligence, and Brotherly Love. Congrats Ed! As always, if you ever have any questions or concerns, please reach out to me directly.
