Facility Update
This past year has presented the Corporation with many challenges. The kitchen is now ready to serve meals again. The fire suppression system and fire alarm system are now being monitored by Simplex. Many of the issues we addressed this year dealt specifically with life safety issues, and mitigating short-comings in areas related to fire safety. We also installed new carpet in the Formal Room, Foyer, and Upstairs Hallway. Plans for this summer are not yet finalized, but we are looking at a roof project for the pitch-roof and the front beach.

Foundation Update
The Board recently held a quarterly meeting on campus. The Foundation reported assets of approximately $29,000. The active brothers presented a scholarship plan, which would engage the resources of the Educational Foundation. Details of this plan are being finalized by the actives, with guidance from Dr. Terry Keiser. As soon as the Educational Foundation receives a final draft, we will begin working to determine our goals and what steps we need to take to achieve them.
If you would like to make a contribution to the Educational Foundation to support our scholarship efforts, please send your check payable to: Ohio Alpha Educational Foundation, to the following address:

President's Perspective
When I started in this position, I had several goals which I felt were not only measurable, but achievable. First, gain the respect and trust of the active chapter. Not only in me, but in the Board. As I type this, I can say that we have done that. Second, bring Ohio Alpha back to dominance at ONU. After the Greek Awards Banquet, mission accomplished: 11 of 14 awards. Third, get the actives to once again embrace our storied history and reach out to the men that helped to shape it. Again, mission accomplished. But, our work is not done. The Alumni Board will not become complacent, which I believe will keep the chapter from becoming complacent. Their is still much work to be done. If, at any time, you have a question or concern, please call me at 440-396-8475. My lines are always open for a conversation with a brother. HFF
