Fraud Alert |
Recently a man who called himself "Mr. Mark Error" stayed at a
member's B&B. He managed to open a locked desk and stole bank
statements with signatures and blank cheques. He made cheques out to
himself and cashed them at a local bank. For security
reasons, cheques, bank statements and any tax
information should be stored away from guest access.
The victims
also learned that a hacker may be able to access information through a
wireless network, so from now on they will do their Internet banking
on a separate network than the one their guests use. |

More Ads Needed!
Our 2009-10 brochure is in production. Please try to sell an ad to a local business that you send guests to: a favourite restaurant, coffee shop, tourist attraction, spa, gift shop, etc.
You make a commission for each ad sold: $25 for small ads, $50 for half-page ads and $75 for a full page.
If you sold an ad in the past, contact that company now and offer them a chance to renew. If you know of a business that might like to advertise, approach them and give them the opportunity.
Our brochure is in need of better representation in these areas: Lower Mainland, Northern B.C., Whistler, Gulf Islands and East Vancouver Island. Guests like to see ads in the area they are visiting.
Use these downloads for the rates, cover letter and contract.
If you cannot contact a company you sold an ad to in the past, or need assistance, contact the brochure committee.

Festive Night in Vancouver
Thank you, Alison and David Bentall from Cherry Blossom, for hosting a festive night in December. It was a fun, social evening with Anita Bowes playing the piano while the other guests sang along.
