Member Benefit
Your Board needs to know how many people would be interested in the following promotion for BC Innkeeper members ONLY. We are negotiating with BC Travel Guide
to list any of our members who are interested on their website. Cost would be approximately $25 for a year (a $50 saving).  If enough people are interested it will be listed as an add-on feature at membership renewal time. At this point you are not committing, you are just telling us if you think this is a good idea to pursue.

AGM/Members Meeting
Date Change
This is the first issue of Table talk in our new format. I apologize for giving you one more distraction before we all are up to our apron strings with charming guests. There are a couple of items that need your attention now rather than later.

Please note that the dates for the
AGM/Members meeting that were advertised in INNFormation were incorrect. Please go back to your calendar and make the change to Monday Oct. 20 and Tuesday Oct. 21. Apologies to Rosel at Rosel's B&B and to Julie at Arbor B&B for raising their blood pressure when they saw what I had written originally.  Plans are well under way for what I know will be a fun and educational session up in Prince George. You HAVE to be there.

Guild Marketing
There are only five B&B spots left for the proposed Guild ad in the next Tourism BC Approved Accommodation Guide. Remember, the 2009 guide will likely be the last one published before the Olympic Games, and its normal distribution of 350,000 copies is likely to be even higher. The rate will be approximately $1,095 each.

E-mail ian.macphee@bcinnkeepers.com if you're interested in this opportunity or if you have any comments on coop marketing opportunities like this one.

The ad could look something like this:

Guild Website
Thanks to feedback from members in various regions, we have made another improvement to several Regional Directory pages on the Guild's website. While both the Vancouver and Victoria regions are split up into several directories, we have added a location filter to the Thompson/Okanagan, East Vancouver Island and the Gulf Island regions.  Now, when you select any of these directory pages, you will see all communities where we have Members listed near the top of the page, so that the visitor can go directly to "Kelowna", if that's where they want to be, rather than scroll through all the Thompson/Okanagan listings.
Membership Promotion
The last INNFormation was sent out to all our Members AND to 600+ Tourism BC approved B&Bs. Out of that number only one B&B asked to be removed from our mailing list. We then sent out a promo to the same group advertising the benefits of joining the Guild. We have already had several positive responses and anticipate more.
Welcome Back
We are delighted to tell you that Roger and Shirley Clifford at Inlet Bay Retreat in Port Moody are open again after a devastating fire. They also passed on the news that their son Paul has made it to the last 24 in Canadian Idol. They and he deserve our support so give him your vote.
Sincerely,
