'Integrated Design & Delivery Solutions: Design Management in an Online Collaborative Environment' CIO Breakfast Seminar - Melbourne 24th March, 2011

Building and construction projects generate large volumes of information throughout each project life cycle.   Full integration of multi-disciplinary Building Information Models (BIM) within an online data repository has not been completely implemented in the Australian construction industry to date.

This talk combines recent innovative developments in industry, a collaborative industry academic government research project as well as the diffusion of leading edge practice and research into tertiary education.

Dr Kerry London of RMIT University and Claudelle Taylor of Leighton Holdings will also discuss the framework of the Project Life Cycle Collaborative BIM Decision. This framework provides guidelines on how a project can implement BIM, the options for timeframes in which to do it and what other factors need to be accounted for, dependent on the stakeholders involved and the project's phase.

PMI eLearning Courses

Need training that fits into your busy schedule? Consider PMI eLearning on Demand courses. Learn and earn PDUs from your computer.

Check out PMI's newest on Demand training - the Alaskan Recovery Series.

In this simulation, students act as the project manager of a deep sea expedition project to discover the origins of an ancient artifact found on the floor of the Aleutian Sea off the coast of Alaska.

The course presents project managers with real-world scenarios as they manage archeologists, divers, academics and a nautical crew. Apply your knowledge of the PMBOK Guide-Fourth Edition and make decisions that determine the success of the project outcome, all in a risk-free simulated environment.

The course is broken down into modules that focus on one of the PMBOK Guide knowledge areas. The first module, Project Scope Management, is now available.

Earn 3.5 PDUs and/or .35 CEUs for this module. Look for the remaining modules throughout 2011.

After completing a module, review the scorecard evaluation that details your success to find areas for improvement.
