Dear ,

There are several important reminders in this issue:

Members Only: A Special General Meeting (SGM) of the Chapter will be held at the Telstra Theatrette on the 30th March at 6pm for the adoption of the new Chapter Rules proposed on 9 February 2010. Copies of the draft rules can be downloaded from the Resources/Chapter Documents page. To book for the event, please visit our website. At the end of the evening, three lucky entries from our Membership Encouragement Draw will be selected. The promotion was open to all new or re-joining members during the Congress but then extended till March 12th. We hope to see you all to claim your prize: 3-months subscriptions to Visual PMBOK® Guide by jospar.com created by David Pratten. In addition, please note that the audited PMC 2009 Financial Report is now available under Resources/Chapter Documents page of our website.

Members & Friends: Following SGM, our monthly event will take place. Mark Schröffel from Leadership one-II-one will talk about "Leadership in Project Management". He will review leadership role played by project managers in organisations; i.e. not only the delivery of projects, but the expectation often placed on them to lead organisations through periods of change and to resolve long-standing problems. Bookings are currently open and we hope to see you all.

Everyone: PMOZ 2010 has an important deadline this Friday, 26 March 2010. If you are planning to present and/or benefit from web hot special rates, act now. Both Call for Papers and Web Hot Special Rates will be closed on Friday, 26 March 2010.

"Adaptive Project Management - research"- call for practitioners to participate

Anton Rossouw, a PhD student at Swinburne University's Australian Graduate School of Entrepreneurship (and a member of PMI) is looking to recruit experienced practitioners to assist him with his research.

His research is for a thesis titled 'Adaptive Project Management' which is about applying project management theory, complexity theory and informed collaborative practitioner involvement into new theory for project managing complex projects. His research is to be undertaken under the guidance of his supervisor, Professor Nita Cherry.

Purpose of Practitioner Involvement

A feature to be used in this research is the application of project management practitioner driven collaboration as the synthesis methodology, utilising recorded personal interviews and group sessions to collect data. To meet the objective of expanding project management knowledge, up to 25 volunteers will be recruited to share their thoughts and opinions before and after two information seminars around the topic of complex project management. The focus will be on the participants' personal experiences, opinions, insights, and learning from their point of view. They are not required to represent, refer by name, or discuss any particular person, project or organisation.

Anyone interested in participating in this research should contact Anton directly by e-mail anton.rossouw@gmail.com or telephone +61 439 802 017.
