Dear (Contact First Name),

At the AGM in February this year, the Chapter Board informed you that the Chapter was being sued by a Chapter member in regard to his nomination to the 2009 Chapter Board being unsuccessful.

Since February there have been numerous attempts to resolve the matter with the Plaintiff.   The matter is now set for trial at the Melbourne Magistrates Court (233 William Street) commencing on Monday 23rd November at 10 AM for 5 days.   Any interested Chapter Members may attend the trial.   (Please dress appropriately if you are attending the Magistrates court.)

Yours sincerely
Ken Farnes
President, Melbourne Chapter PMI

There are places still available for the Chapter Event on Tuesday 24th November. We invite you to register and attend this informative event and use the opportunity to meet other collegues in the field.

We have also provided information about an upcoming Webinar which we believe may be of interest.

At the November Board Meeting, the Board decided to appoint Sermin Tanyeri, currently a volunteer on the Communications Team, to the position of Director at Large assisting the Communications Director until the next AGM, effective immediately.   Sermin will take over responsibility for the Chapter's web site and other Communications tasks to permit the Communications Director to focus on commissioning a Training Committee.

Regards,

Lindsay Whitehead,
Communications Director

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

2010 PMI Congress Asia Pacific

The Melbourne Chapter is the host Chapter for the Asia Pacific PMI Congress to be held in February 2010.   The chapter is seeking VOLUNTEERS who would like to be involved with the Congress.   THIS IS A BIG EVENT, so we need you to seriously consider helping!

The Volunteer roles will include:
  • Volunteer Manager (team lead)
  • Volunteer Coordinators
  • Leadership Session monitors
  • Leadership Collateral Support
  • Area of Focus Session Monitors
  • Materials Pickup, Bookstore Support, Registration Support and Chapter Table Support
  • General volunteers.
Volunteers are a very important part of the Melbourne Chapter.  We are successful because our volunteers are committed and enthusiastic people who work alongside the Melbourne Chapter Board of Directors to deliver services to our members and to the project management community.   Volunteers contribute significantly to enhancing the experiences we can offer to members and guests.    (And they earn PDU's.)

REGISTER your interest in Volunteering by completing the Volunteer Form in the Chapter's Web Site.

Melbourne Chapter support for MOVEMBER

The Movember Foundation is a not-for-profit, charitable organisation which runs the men's health initiative, Movember. Each year, they are responsible for the appearance of moustaches on thousands of men's faces across the globe, with the aim of raising vital funds and awareness for men's health, specifically prostate cancer and depression in men.
The Melbourne Chapter is privileged to have one of its members participating. Paul O'Connor is sacrificing himself and growing a Mo for Movember. Please be generous in your support of Paul and his friends (the Moditor-Generals) in the fund raising endeavours.
To donate to this worthy cause and support Paul and the Moditor-Generals go to: http://au.movember.com/mospace/10442/
