Training Update
The Training & Certification section of the Chapter website has been updated and refreshed. It is now easier then ever to check on the requirements for a PMI Credential or book into a training course. As the job market tightens adding knowledge and credentials to your CV is a good way to stay competitive. To support this aim, we have scheduled a comprehensive selection of PMP and CAPM courses throughout 2009; supported by a series of focused workshops to build skills and earn PDUs. Some of the workshops scheduled for the next few months include: - 'How To' develop an effective schedule - PMBOK Update - learn what new in the 4th Edition - Business Analysis for Project Managers - Successful Stakeholder Management Visit the updated pages on our web site and see what you think. |

Kooma Energy Project Engineers Without Borders (EWB) is excited to be assisting the Kooma Traditional Owners Association Incorporated (KTOAI) to sustainably meet the energy needs on their two properties, Murra Murra and Bendee Downs, in South-West Queensland.
The plan is to install a solar panel system (~10kVA) and halve the current energy usage through education and energy efficiency measures, making KTOAI a net exporter of renewable energy!
The project will be managed by a volunteer team based in Brisbane. EWB are now seeking applications for a number of positions including a Project Manager. If you are interested in more information on the position, please contact: Lizzy Skinner at [email protected] or 03 9696 9040.

Djarragun College Volunteers
Dear Colleague,
I am writing to tell you about an unusual but exciting volunteer project that Proton is involved in on Cape York in Far North Queensland, and to see if you might know anyone who would be interested in taking on a truly unique challenge. This opportunity has come to light through Proton's growing involvement with IEP (Indigenous Enterprise Partnerships). IEP facilitates corporate and philanthropic support of indigenous communities in Cape York, primarily in partnership with Cape York Partnerships. IEP and Cape York Partnerships form an important part of Proton's Community Support Program which offers direct and practical pro bono assistance to worthwhile Australian initiatives.
Djarragun College is establishing a new foster centre for children who are relocating from a number of remote communities on Cape York. The new centre will be built on land adjoining the current College campus in Cairns, and will accommodate up to 50 children.
Please drop me a line if you would like to know more about indigenous programs on the Cape or Proton's involvement with these programs. Kind regards, Peter [email protected] Peter Spasojevic - Senior Partner - Proton Projects
