Greetings!

Tram
We have two great events coming up!   The first is our October event, and the second is our end of year event, on 25 November.   There is a charge of $25 for the end of year event, and we will be using our new certificated-secure web site for processing payments.  When you register for either of these events, you will be redirected to the new web site to register.  You will be able to see other parts of the new web site once you are redirected, but be aware that the other parts are still being beta tested.  If you want approved content, you should continue to use the old web site.

Regards,

Lindsay Whitehead,
Communications Director

Monthly Event 28 October:
Lizzy Skinner (Engineers Without Borders); Mark Betts and Paul Wilson (Project AID)
Engineers Without Borders and Project AID

This night's presentation takes project management out of business and into the charitable and disaster relief world. Each organisation represents two different ways of given back to communities around the world using Project Management skills. Engineers Without Borders works with disadvantaged communities to improve their quality of life through education and the implementation of sustainable engineering projects. Through the process of helping people in need we become more socially aware and responsible, improve ourselves and inspire others to action. Lizzy Skinner will be speaking, and the presentation will cover our vision, history, structure and current work and projects. We will probably focus on a couple of projects with different models of management. We will also give information on how people can get involved locally and contribute to sustainable projects in their area. Project AID's vision is to provide Project Management assistance to Australian relief and non-for-profit organizations in delivering their projects. This assistance encompasses the provision of voluntary project management experience and expertise in a professional and neutral manner utilizing resources of the Project Management Community. Mark Betts and Paul Wilson will be speaking on their contribution, activities and goals for Project AID and the organizations it supports. Information on how to contribute and participate on providing Project Management expertise with Project AID projects will also be shared.
