Patriot Award

Members of the JJC Police Department were honored with a Patriot Award April 27 in recognition of their support in the workplace for the National Guard or reservists.
Chief Pete Comanda, Commander Mel Cornelius, Sergeant Jeff Smith and Communications Operator Jean Smith were nominated by Aleksandra Lenart, JJC communications operator, for the Patriot Award given by the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESRG) organization. Read more

Frankfort Couple Honored at JJC Sustainability Event
 Frankfort residents Norman and Charlotte Codo were honored for their local land restoration efforts at the second annual Will County Green--or GR2011--Celebrating Sustainability Festival kick-off event on the Joliet Junior College Main Campus April 21.

The Codos received the 2011 Sustainability Award for their efforts to restore 24 acres of farmland to native Illinois prairie and savanna in rural Frankfort.
