The JJC Vet Tech Club held their annual Dog Wash fundraiser Nov. 13. Each year, the club holds the fundraiser to donate to causes that benefit the well-being of domestic and wild animals.

According to Susan Ripper, JJC Vet Tech facility manager and club adviser, 43 dogs were brought to the event. Ripper said funds raised would be distributed to local fire departments to help purchase oxygen masks for animals rescued from fires.

Romeville Campus staff participates in Passionately Pink for Cure.

Through the collaborative efforts of Tracy Theard, Institutional Advancement and Research Division; Debbie Alberts, City Center Campus; Griselda Martinez, Morris Education Center; Debbie Halley, Romeoville Campus; Kara Kukowski, Frankfort Education Center; the Human Resources staff, and the students in JJC's CA 116 Baking and Pastry Class, JJC raised $300 for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation during their Passionately Pink for the Cure campaign during the month of October.

In addition, the JJC Athletic Department, with the combined efforts of the cheerleading, softball, volleyball, and women's soccer programs, raised $500 for the Susan G. Komen Foundation. Each team, including the football team, participated in a designated game to raise awareness by wearing pink shirts and athletic tape. This has been the most successful effort by the Athletic Department to raise money for this foundation.
