New VP Begins New Post June 1

studentsDr. Valerie Roberson will assume her post as the new vice president of academic affairs June 1.

Roberson replaces Interim Vice President Dr. Linda Uzureau. She is the former campus president of Olive-Harvey College, one of the six community colleges within the city colleges of Chicago.

MyJJC Portal Launch to Start Summer 2010

The launch of the myJJC portal initiative will begin this summer. The portal will ultimately serve as the college's intranet, allowing everyone throughout the college to find online resources without having to search multiple places.

Training on how to use the myJJC portal will begin for staff this summer, while faculty training is expected to begin in the fall of 2010 and student training in the spring of 2011.

Informational seminars and training will be offered in the August Professional and Personal Development week, in addition to training for each department.

Benefits of the myJJC portal include:

· Improved communications to the college community

· Single sign-on to WebAdvisior/eResources, iCampus, email, Outlook calendar, Imaging, and Colleague - this means you'll only have to sign on once to have access to several of our major Web applications

· Easy and convenient access to information both on and off campus

· Targeted and personalized information;

· Online collaborative workspaces for departments, committees, and other groups, with features such as document sharing, group calendars, discussion areas, announcements, and picture galleries;

· Strong integration into Datatel Colleague allowing users to see their notifications within their myJJC homepage.

More information, including a myJJCFAQ, is available at www.jjc.edu/info/myjjc.

We look forward to answering any questions you may have about the upcoming project. Please feel free to forward your questions to webmaster@jjc.edu or call Dwayne Cable at ext. 6641.
