Basketball Coach Kuhn Earns 250 Wins
Head Basketball Coach Joe Kuhn earned his 250th coaching victory on Jan. 10 in a 109-62 win against the College of Lake County.
This is Kuhn's twelfth year as head basketball coach at JJC. During this time, he has amassed an overall record of 238-125.
Kuhn is currently second on the career wins list at JJC. A.A. "Fizz" Wills, who coached at JJC for 33 seasons, is the all-time leader with 668 wins.
"My recipe for success has been to recruit the best possible student athletes possible," Kuhn said. "I have also had very good assistant coaches. Our three assistant coaches all played here at JJC."
This includes associate head coach Keith Kinzler (played in the 1992-1993 season); Erik Walton (played in the 1997-1999 season); and Zach Pucel (played in the 2000-2001 season).
Kuhn, who has been named coach of the year six times, has guided the Wolves to the national tournament four times (2008, 2005, 2004, 1998), advancing to the national championship game twice in the last four seasons (2008, 2005). Kuhn has coached seven All-Americans, four conference players of the year, and 19 all region players at JJC. The Wolves have played in the region championship game in 10 of his 11 seasons, including nine in a row, and have won four conference crowns (2008, 2004, 2003, 2001). In addition to coaching the Wolves, Kuhn is currently a biology teacher at Rich East High School, where he has been teaching for the past 16 years. Kuhn resides in New Lenox with his wife Kathy and daughter Caitlin, 14.

Campus Construction Updates
Facility Services reinstalled over 100 international flags in the C-E Concourse on the Main Campus over the college's winter break.
The reinstallation was part of several construction projects that were completed, including the installation of motorized roller shades in the Main Campus cafeteria and a floor tile mock up in C-2008 and the adjacent hallway.
A before and after comparison of the floor tile mock up is below:
The floor tile mock up is part of a set of standards that are being established as part of the master plan. Identifying standards is necessary for consistent aesthetics as well as efficient maintenance, purchasing power and storage.
For questions on any of the projects, contact Facility Services at ext. 2332.
