OlympicDish
Roulade of Salmon, Crimini Mushroom and Watercress Crown, pictured above, were part of Chef Tim Bucci's winning dish at the World Culinary Olympics in Erfurt, Germany, in October.

In only five years of professional culinary competition, Chef Tim Bucci has earned some bragging rights.

TBucciOlympicNineteen gold medals, 16 silver medals, and four bronze medals from various contests round out his resume. But it's his latest culinary award--a gold medal from the World Culinary Olympics--that is the icing on the cake.

"I was in shock," Bucci, an instructor in the Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management Department, said. "Only a few gold medals are given out... This is my biggest award since I have been competing and it is the sweetest yet."

Bucci, who has been a professional chef for 18 years, competed in the Olympics held in Erfurt, Germany, in October. With 54 countries that participate, the four-day event brings together some of the best to test their culinary craft.
