It's time again for the annual Y.E.S. youth musical!
Bye Bye Birdie

Synopsis: Experience the exuberance of 1950s teenagers, as the youth of Sweet Apple, Ohio swoon over their idol Conrad Birdie, with all the singing and dancing that made this musical a Broadway favorite.
Character Breakdowns: Available by clicking here. Depending on auditions, we hope to double-cast principal roles.
Open Auditions: Sat. Sept. 13, 12pm - 5pm & Sun. Sept. 14, 5pm - 8pm. Actors need to come to only one of the audition dates. No appointment needed.
Location: Morgan-Wixson Theatre, 2627 Pico Blvd., Santa Monica
Bring: Resume, recent photo (school snapshot is fine), & calendar with your conflicts. Prepare 32 bars (verse & chorus) of a musical theatre song (no pop or rock) with music in your key; accompanist & boom box provided. Be prepared to dance with jazz shoes or sneakers. If auditioning for a "Sad Girl," bring tap shoes also.

Performance Dates

Actors must be available for all shows, including Thanksgiving weekend. |

Rehearsals Beginning Sept. 20: Mon. - Thurs. 6:30-8:30, Sat. 1:00-5:00, & Sun. 5:30-8:30. Not everyone is needed for each rehearsal.
Ensemble parts generally have no more than 3 rehearsals per week, until the last 2 weeks before opening, when we need everyone. Weekend rehearsals are vital since predominantly for dance.
