5 Tips: Dressing for Fall Riding

Pearl Izumi Arm WarmersAutumn in Northeast Ohio brings some of the best cycling conditions of the year, but choosing the right clothing for the weather can be challenging even for experienced riders. Here are some tips to help you stay comfortable and safe on your late-season rides:
  1. Get arm warmers and leg warmers to conveniently adapt to quickly-changing temperatures.
  2. Be prepared for wet weather by carrying a light jacket.
  3. Use a headlight and taillight to help stay visible as the days get shorter.
  4. Remember to stay hydrated and use sunscreen.
  5. Bring along a change of clothes, or at least a warm jacket, to wear after the ride.
For more details about each of the above tips, read the complete article on our website:  5 Tips: Dressing for Fall Riding

Justin Stark at our Medina store has a lot going on in his life lately, but in his free time, he likes keeping his 2010 Giant Anthem X3 mountain bike running in top shape, and riding it at Ray's Mountain Bike Park, Vulture's Knob, and other local trails.

To read more about what's keeping Justin's life busy, and the upgrades that he's made to his bike, see this article:

Take our latest online poll!

What is your favorite breakfast to fuel up for a long morning bike ride?

Click the link to take our latest online poll and let us know!

Last month's poll asked, "What kind of music to you prefer to listen to while shopping in a bicycle store?" The most votes (21%) were for "Classic Rock," but that was followed closely (19%) by varied responses in the "Other" category, including a couple of votes for "Heavy Metal" (how could we have left that one out?), "mix it up," and this inspiring comment: "I want to hear music with a pulsating driving beat which inspires me to move, so I imagine myself tackling miles of road." See the full results here.

Century Cycles YouTube Channel

Over the years of photographing and filming our various events, we have collected an extensive library of videos on our YouTube Channel at: youtube.com/CenturyCycles. Check it out; you'll probably find something fun, and you may even find something educational!

One of our most popular videos (with over 8,000 views) has been this one of Derrick in our Peninsula store demonstrating how to straighten a badly-bent wheel. Click on the image to watch it! (Note that this is not our "normal" wheel truing method; it's for "emergency" use, or as Derrick says, "It'll getcha home!")
