Spring is Officially Kicked Off
Thank you to the over 200 people who joined us last Friday night to help us kick off spring at our annual party! (Hopefully Mother Nature will be getting the memo soon.) It was Century Cycles' biggest and best spring event EVER! We were thrilled so many friends could join us to celebrate the movie "Pee-Wee's Big Adventure," win awesome raffle prizes, and empty almost every beverage container we had stocked.
Even if you couldn't make it to the party, we'd like to thank all of our customers and staff - here's to another great cycling season in Northeast Ohio!
You can see more photos, press coverage, and other information about the event by going to:

5 Tips: Preventing Bike Theft
In the film " Pee-Wee's Big Adventure," the hero travels to the Alamo and beyond in search of his beloved stolen bike. We offer you these 5 Tips to avoid a bicycle theft of your own -- just in time for spring and just as Americans prepare to ride their bikes more this summer in response to higher gas prices: - Choose a lock based on your needs.
- Key or combination, that is the question.
- Lock your bike frame AND wheels to an immovable object.
- Choose a location carefully, balancing protection with visibility.
- Keep a record of your bike and the serial number.
Read more details about each of the above tips in this article.

 What We Ride: Mike Petcher
Mike "Petch" Petcher is the Sales Manager at the Century Cycles store in Medina. Any time the road or trail is too rough a ride for his Bianchi road bike, he grabs his 2009 Masi Speciale CX, which he calls "The Root Beer Float," because of its root-beer-brown color. Learn more about Petch and his bike, including how he chose the size and customized it fit him, and what accessories he added, in this article: What We Ride: Mike Petcher

Do you think GPS for bikes is a good idea?
The latest generation of electronic devices for cycling include GPS (Global Positioning System) features that use satellite communication to find and track your location anywhere on earth. Will this change the way you ride, or is it just a distraction from your enjoyment of the outdoors? Let us know by taking our latest online poll. Last month's online poll asked, " During the winter months, how do you fight cabin fever?" The clear winner was "Hiking, skiing, or other outdoor activities" (59%) followed by "Ride on my indoor trainer" (31%). You can see the full results of the last poll here.
