Would you like to acquire basic tools for researching and writing proposals to win grants? This full-day introductory SkillBuilder brought to you in collaboration with the Maine Philanthropy Center and the Maine Association of Nonprofits will guide participants through the most common components of a formal grant proposal. It is recommended for individuals with little or no grant writing experience to demystify the grant writing process. There are tools and techniques you can use no matter what sort of funding opportunity you are considering. This course, presented by Regal Naseef, will focus on the nuts and bolts process of researching and submitting grants in general, rather than those offered by any particular office or agency.

Have you mastered the fundamentals of writing grant proposals? Are you looking to strengthen your submissions to prospective funders? This half-day SkillBuilder, brought to you through a collaboration between the Maine Philanthropy Center and the Maine Association of Nonprofits, will explore how "sweating the details" pays off. Presented by Bill Bayreuther, discussions will focus on how to ensure that your proposal is a good fit for a grant program, writing style, budget presentation, and funder cultivation and stewardship. Any participant who can bring a PC laptop computer with Microsoft Word is encouraged to do so, to ensure availability of familiar and compatible equipment on which one member of each small group will enter their group's jointly drafted one-page proposal for projection and peer review.
